IT’S GOVERNOR EVERS IN WI; POLL WORKERS SAY “REMARKABLE” VOTER TURN OUT

State School Superintendent Tony Evers will be Wisconsin’s next governor. 

Evers narrowly defeated incumbent Republican Governor Scott Walker in a hotly contested race. 


However, the race for governor in Wisconsin may not be over.  The early victory call is that it was a win by about 29 thousand votes.  But Walker’s campaign says a recount may be coming.  If the two end the vote count within one-percent of each other, then Walker can ask election managers to recount the ballots.  But, most say that the slim margin was wide enough to avoid a recount in the state-we will keep you posted on any more details that may emerge about any recounts.


Poll workers in Eau Claire are calling voter turnout in the city remarkable.  Citywide turn out was just over 65-percent by 5 p.m.  Both Democratic and Republican candidates for various offices have been visiting Eau Claire and pushing the importance of voting.
