IRVINE PARK TREE-TING FOR INVASIVE SPECIES

Chippewa County is continuing to fight an invasive species of trees infesting parks and the community.

Officials are treating trees in Irvine Park that are affected by the emerald ash borer.  The invasive beetle kills ash trees by disrupting the tree’s ability to transport water and nutrients.  Eradicating the species has been a joint effort between Parks officials and local residents.
