REDISTRICTING REVISITED

State Assembly leaders are retaining a private attorney to intervene in a redistricting lawsuit. 

Court records filed yesterday show that Republican lawmakers made the decision based partially on the potential of Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel losing re-election in November.  The attorney is working outside the Department of Justice, which is seeking to defend current election maps against a challenge by the Fair Elections Project.
