UW EMPLOYEE FACING JAIL TIME FOR THEFT

A former UW-Madison employee who stole over 100-thousand-dollars will spend some time in jail, but he’s avoiding prison time. 53-year-old Kevin O’Donnell pleaded guilty to stealing the funds from the university’s housing division.

He was sentenced to eight months in jail and six years of probation.  The Dane County assistant district attorney and O’Donnell’s attorney recommended jail time instead of prison time because he didn’t have a criminal history and was a 26-year Army veteran.
