Run, chase, roof…that was the order of events for a person now in custody after a high-speed chase turned into a suspect search in Eau Claire County.
It all started when the suspect skipped out on a gas bill in Wood County and then HIT the gas-leading police on a chase through a construction zone before hitting a rough patch and damaging the car. The driver ran from the scene and was later found by deputies and K-9 units on a roof of the Buggy Wheel Apartment Building in Augusta.
There were two women in the vehicle at the time as well and one was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the other was held, then released.
