WI Coronavirus Cases Creep Up

Wisconsin is inching closer to 500 people in the hospital with the coronavirus once again. The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said 493 people are in the hospital with the virus, including 82 in the ICU. Both of those numbers are up from this point last week. Wisconsin has seen about 500 people in the hospital with the coronavirus in the state for the past month or so. Governor Evers went back to Kenosha, but not to talk about the two-year anniversary of the city’s nights of violence. The governor visited Kenosha yesterday to talk-up his new tax cut plan. The governor is proposing a 600 million-dollar tax cut that he says will also lower the price of gas. Taylor Co. Deer Farm Depopulated After CWD

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) confirms that a Taylor County deer farm that tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD) has been depopulated. Of the 238 animals tested as a result of the depopulation, 61 were positive for the disease. In 2021, a 6-year-old white-tailed doe tested positive for CWD at the 22-acre farm. DATCP immediately quarantined all animals on the premises, meaning no live animals or whole carcasses were permitted to leave the property.

On 08-24-22, Officers received a report that a male and female had entered Mall Furniture in Marshfield WI and fraudulently purchased various furniture items. On 08-23-22, the individuals purchased $15, 054 worth of furniture and loaded it into a white Penske truck. The individuals returned the following day on 08-24-22 and purchased $13, 250 worth of furniture for a total of $28, 305. Search Continues After County Fairgrounds Are Torn Up

The sheriff in Richland County is looking for whoever tore-up a field at the county fairgrounds. The sheriff’s office posted pictures on Facebook yesterday of the deep ruts someone left behind after driving through the field. The sheriff says whoever did the damage was looking to get on to the fairground’s track. The sheriff’s office is asking for tips as part of the investigation.
