Madison police say the suspect in a recent murder investigation is dead after walking out in front of a semi truck. Police are calling it a murder-suicide. They say the suspect killed his wife at their home in west Madison Sunday afternoon, then walked in front of a semi truck on Interstate-39/90 that evening.

According to the Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, Shawn Bauer led officials on a chase, during which he struck a squad car twice. A taser was deployed during that time but had no effect and Bauer fled.
