Newly unsealed court documents show the Green Bay woman accused of dismembering her boyfriend after a day of drug use want the sexual assault charge she’s facing dropped because her boyfriend was no longer a person. Man Accused of Prowling on Dating App Requests Self Representation in Court

The man accused of finding women on dating apps, drugging and robbing them, and perhaps killing one, is asking the judge if he can represent himself. Man Pleads Guilty to Killing a Child

The final person charged with killing an 11-year-old Madison girl back in 2020 has pleaded guilty.  Jerry Ward pleaded guilty yesterday to first-degree reckless homicide as a party to a crime charges.  He was in the car when another man opened fire on 11-year-old Anisa Scott’s father, but hit her instead. Ward was 17-years-old at the time.  Prosecutors are asking for a 20-year sentence as part of the plea agreement.  Ward’s sentencing date has not yet been set.

WI Votes on National Deal

Most of Wisconsin’s Republicans in Congress voted for the new debt ceiling deal, while the state’s two Democrats voted against it. Republican Tom Tiffany from the northwoods was the only Republican to vote against the deal that raises the debt ceiling in exchange for a few spending cuts. Tiffany said the deal doesn’t cut enough spending. Wisconsin’s two Democrats didn’t like the welfare-to-work requirements in the package. Federal Regulation Request on Tap For WI PFAS

Wisconsin’s attorney general wants the federal government to set PFAS standards for drinking water, so the state isn;t on its own.  A-G Josh Kaul yesterday signed-on to a letter to the EPA, urging a federal set of standards for PFAS contamination.  He said people across the country need to feel safe when they turn-on the tap.  Currently, there aren’t any federal standards.  That means each state can set its own, and Wisconsin set its own PFAS standards back in February of last

Madison’s spelling bee champion is ending his national journey just outside the Top 20.  Aiden Wijeyakulasuriya was eliminated yesterday after giving the wrong definition of the word obviate.  He spelled the word properly, but missed the explanation.  He finished the national bee tied for 21st.

The Pride Flag will fly over the Wisconsin Capitol, once again, starting today. Governor Evers will mark the beginning of Pride Month with a ceremony at the statehouse. Chippewa Sheriff Updates Case, Drug Bust

Sheriff Hakes in Chippewa recently updated a case in that area as Brandon Herman received a $50,000 cash bond in Chippewa County Courthouse.
