Dunn Co. Reports First Human Case of West Nile

Dunn County is reporting its first human case of West Nile Virus.  The County Health Department says the virus was found when a blood donor tested positive.  Most people who contract West Nile Virus don’t have any symptoms, but less than one-percent of people develop severe illness. Body Recovered from WI River, Investigation Continues

A man is found deceased in the Wisconsin River after falling over a railing overnight.  Police dispatch says reports of the man falling into the river on Broadway Avenue came in just before midnight.  A rescue boat recovered the man at about 1:20 a.m. today. Police say foul play is not suspected, but his death is still being investigated.

Microsoft Adds to Future Data Center

Microsoft is adding an additional four-billion-dollar investment to a future AI data center in Wisconsin.  Construction on the initial three-point-three-billion-dollar data center is set to be complete early next year.  The additional four-billion-dollar investment is expected to make the center into an advanced data center within three years.  The Mount Pleasant center is expected to employ about 500 people once operational.  That number will grow to 800 once the expansion is complete.

Uecker’s Motorcycle on Display

Bob Uecker’s motorcycle is on display at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee.  Visitors will be able to see Mr. Baseball’s motorcycle up close for the next six months.  Uecker was the voice of the Milwaukee Brewers for 54 seasons before he passed in January.  In addition to Uecker’s motorcycle, more than 120 bikes from throughout Harley-Davidson history are available for viewing.

Wisconsin State Patrol and Wisconsin School Bus Association team up to promote school bus safety

Police Seek Tips in Cemetery Vandalism Case

La Crosse Police are investigating a recent act of vandalism at a local cemetery.  Reports say that between 5 p.m. on September 10th and 9:05 a.m. on September 11th, a suspect — or multiple suspects — damaged a number of headstones at the Oak Grove Cemetery.  Anyone with additional information on the incident or the people involved is encouraged to contact police.

Victim of La Crosse Crash Identified

Authorities are sharing the name of a person who lost their life this week in a La Crosse collision.  Twenty-year-old Braeden Felber was riding a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon when he collided with a car near West Avenue and Farnam Street.  Felber later died at a local hospital.
