A spokesperson says 240 Saputo Cheese employees will be out of a job in Green Bay starting this November. The cheese manufacturing plant is officially closing in December. Officials say employees were offered retention and severance options. The company is consolidating and modernizing its operations.

Only one sturgeon can be harvested per season for each license holder, and harvested fish will have to be registered at designated stations. The season will run until September 30th. The closures are effective immediately and due to what Mayor Shaundel Washington-Spivey says is the behavior of sheltered and unsheltered individuals.
