Assembly Panel to Address Election Laws

Republican lawmakers at the Wisconsin Capitol are looking to close what they say is a loophole in the state’s elections laws. An Assembly panel today will look at a plan to tighten the rules for indefinitely confined voters. The Wisconsin State Patrol is once again telling drivers to hit the deer. Troopers yesterday issued their annual warning about deer crashes. The State Patrol says there were 16 thousand crashes involving deer in the state last year. Troopers say it’s always best to avoid deer, but they say it is better to hit a deer than swerve at high speed, or swerve and hit a tree. Same Day, Different Charges

The man who brought guns to the Wisconsin Capitol twice in one day is in jail again on a charge related to the same day. Joshua Pleasnick was charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a firearm into a public building. He has not visited the Capitol with a gun again since the two initial instances. WI Prison Lock Downs, Deaths Reported

A second inmate is now dead during lock downs at several Wisconsin prisons. Tyshun Lemons is the second person to die in custody since lock down conditions began in March. Some prisons are being kept on lock down while they are filled to capacity. For one prison, lock down will last for as long as a year. The fryers from the Estabrook Beer Garden almost ended up in a Milwaukee food truck. Beer garden organizers yesterday said authorities found their stolen fryers on the city’s south side. Somebody stole two fryers and a freezer at the end of September from the Beer Garden at Estabrook Park. String of Car Thefts Under Investigation

Police in Milwaukee want to find the suspects who stolen nearly a dozen cars from the Potawatomi Casino in just over three weeks. Investigators say 11 cars have been  reported stolen from the casino’s parking garage since September 24th. Police say that’s about three cars per week. Many of the stolen cars are either Kisa or Hyundais. Potawatomi managers say they will monitor the parking lots and their parking garage 24/7. There have been no arrests in the case
