Marshfield Fire Remains Under Investigation

A house fire had crews on scene this afternoon. Marshfield Fire and Rescue initially responded with 11 personnel to a report of a house fire at 708 N Maple Ave., with the fire located in the basement. Upon arrival heavy black smoke was showing from all sides of the house. Firefighters made entry and located the fire in the basement, which they quickly extinguished. Other firefighters made entry to search for any trapped people, which they did not find anyone.

On Dec. 21, Nathan Donovan will graduate from UW-Eau Claire after 3.5 years with a 3.88 GPA, a bachelor’s degree in biology and a preprofessional health science minor with plans to apply to medical school. Police says the shooter who opened fire at a K-through-12 school in Madison, Wisconsin Monday is being identified as a 15-year-old girl. More from Mark Mayfield. Nationally, President Biden says yesterday’s school shooting in Wisconsin is “shocking and unconscionable.” Biden offered his condolences Monday to the victims at Madison’s Abundant Life Christian School, calling it unacceptable that we are unable to protect our children from the scourge of gun violence. Water Rate Hikes On Tap for EC Residents

Water bills in Eau Claire are going-up next year. The city yesterday said it’s raising the price of water by about four percent. That means the current 74 dollar bill for three months of water will jump to about 77 dollars. City Set to Meet on New Hospital Location

Chippewa Falls is set to finalize its new hospital tonight. The city council is being asked to okay the local for the new Aspirus Health hospital. Aspirus wants to build on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard, west of Highway 178. The city currently owns the land. Palermo’s yesterday announced a recall of about 12 hundred Connie’s Thin Crust Cheese frozen pizzas sold here in Wisconsin.
