Vigil Honors Victims, Investigation Continues

WI Drone Sighting Confirmed

Add Waukesha to the list of places with a verified drone sighting. A Waukesha County deputy reported recently that they saw a drone flying over the county courthouse. There’s no indication that the drone was doing anything suspicious, but being over the courthouse meant the drone was flying too close to the Waukesha County Airport. Congrats to the Grads! First Class Set to Walk Sonnentag Stage

It is the first of many to come. The Sonnentag Center at UW-Eau Claire is getting ready for its first graduation. This weekend will see the first class of Blugolds graduate at the new center. There will be 600 graduates in this winter’s class, but the Sonnentag will be able to hold up to five thousand people. After graduation, the Sonnentag will need its basketball court set back up.

Wisconsin’s race for the White House is officially over. The state’s 10 Republican electors cast their official ballots for President-elect Trump yesterday. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes. Trump won Wisconsin by about 30 thousand votes in the November election. Yesterday’s vote was different from four years ago when Republican electors cast their votes for an alternative slate for the president. That vote continues to be part of a criminal case.

The Milwaukee Bucks are NBA Cup champions. The Bucks cruised to a victory over Oklahoma City last night, winning 97-81 in Las Vegas. Giannis had a triple-double on the night and was named the Cup MVP. This is the second year for the NBA’s in-season tournament. Burnett Co. Shooting Under Investigation

One person is recovering from injuries after an officer involved shooting in Burnett County. The Wisconsin Department of Justice says Saint Croix Tribal Police responded to the scene in the Town of Webster last night. Officers say they encountered a man with a knife, and one officer fired their gun. The suspect was shot and injured. He’s getting treatment at a Minnesota hospital.

Marshfield Fire Remains Under Investigation

A house fire had crews on scene this afternoon. Marshfield Fire and Rescue initially responded with 11 personnel to a report of a house fire at 708 N Maple Ave., with the fire located in the basement. Upon arrival heavy black smoke was showing from all sides of the house. Firefighters made entry and located the fire in the basement, which they quickly extinguished. Other firefighters made entry to search for any trapped people, which they did not find anyone.
