Prosecutors in southwestern Wisconsin are pressing ahead with charges against a 19-year-old from Honduras who they say had sex with a 12-year-old girl. Darlington Police arrested Jorge Lopez-Murillo on Tuesday. The DA in Lafayette County filed felony sexual assault charges in the case yesterday. The judge gave Lopez-Murillo a 10 thousand-dollar signature bond and he was released from jail. He’s due back in court in early December.

There is movement in the push to impeach Wisconsin’s elections chief. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos yesterday assigned the articles of impeachment against Elections Commission administrator Meagan Wolfe to a statehouse committee. Some Republicans want to impeach Wolfe for how she handled the 2020 election, and how she has responded to questions from lawmakers ever since. Senator LaTonya Johnson yesterday said the state needs to create a system that catches cases that fall through the cracks of the AMBER Alert System. The sheriff in Sauk County is asking hunters to help look for a teenager who’s been missing for months. The sheriff’s office yesterday said as hunters take to the woods and field this month, they should keep an eye out for evidence of James Yoblonski. Investigators say the remains found this week on the Menominee Reservation are not those of two missing men. A hunter found a human skull in the woods on the reservation on Monday. The medical examiner says the skull is at least five to ten years old, but he’s not saying much else. The lawyer for the missing murder suspect from Eau Claire is leaving the case. Attorney Michael Cohen yesterday told the judge that he hasn’t heard from Shane Helmbrecht. Helmbrecht has been missing since he left a halfway house in Tomah back in September. He was last seen in New Mexico. Prosecutors in Chippewa Falls are moving ahead with charges against a man who they say tried to have sex with a 15-year-old. The DA’s office says 39-year-old Brian Anderson  reached out to someone online who he thought was a teenage girl, and asked her for sex. Anderson says the whole thing was a scam aimed at extorting money from him. He’s been charged with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.

An elderly former teacher from Tomah is headed to prison for ten-years for the abuse of a teenage boy at a private school. A judge this week sentenced 74-year-old Anne Nelson-Koch to a decade behind bars. Investigators say she repeatedly sexually abused a 14-year-old boy in the basement of a Tomah private school during the 2016-2017 school year. Following her prison term, she will spend 15 years on probation.
