The sheriff in Monroe County says a suspect was drunk when he led deputies on a three mile chase that topped 100 miles-per-hour. Deputies arrested 39-year-old Steven Pierce of Tomah Friday night. The sheriff’s office says the whole thing started with a traffic stop near Tomah, but they say Pierce sped away. Court records show this is Pierces’ fourth OWI arrest.

Three people are in custody in Iowa County in connection to a kidnapping from Indiana. The sheriff’s office says a deputy found the car mentioned in an Indiana Silver Alert Saturday at the Kwik Trip in Barneveld. They also found a missing 11-year-old girl. The sheriff’s office says deputies took the girl into custody, she’s okay, and arrested three others. All three are from South Dakota, and the sheriff’s office says all three were wanted out of Indiana. Neither the

Wisconsin’s presidential ballot should be finalized this week. The state’s Presidential Preference Selection Committee will meet tomorrow in Madison to pick who will be on the April primary ballot. The meeting comes as there are questions about former President Trump’s eligibility to appear on the ballot. The state’s Elections Commission last week dismissed a 14th Amendment challenge to the former president, but the man who brought that challenge says he intends to take his case to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Republican lawmakers are asking the Wisconsin Supreme Court to reconsider its redistricting ruling. Attorneys for the legislature on Friday asked the new liberal-majority court to take a second look at their decision to toss out Wisconsin’s political maps. The Republicans are specifically challenging the tight timeline to draw new maps, those maps are due to the court by the end of next week. Eau Claire is getting a coffee shop with cats. The to-be opened Mr. Kitty’s Cat Cafe & Boutique will feature coffee, snacks, and cats that are up for adoption. Mr. Kitty’s is a partner with the  Eau Claire County Humane Association, and all of the cats are from the Humane Association, and director Shelley Janke says there will be 10 to 15 cats in the cafe at all times. The Badgers are looking for a bowl win today. Wisconsin faces LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa. Wisconsin comes into the game with a 7-5 record, LSU ended its season with a 9-3 record. This is the 22nd straight year where Wisconsin has made a bowl appearance. The Badgers have won their last three bowl games. Kickoff is 11 a.m.

The Packers could be playing in the postseason. Green Bay walloped Minnesota last night, easily winning 33-10. Jordan Love threw for three touchdowns and 256 yards on the night. The win improves the Packers’ record to 8-8, and currently gives them the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs. Green Bay simply needs to win next week, against the Bears, to secure that playoff spot.

Swifties in the Chippewa Valley have something to look forward to in the new year. The Pablo Center says it will be hosting a Taylor Swift-inspired dance party January 27th.
