Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is vetoing legislative maps that were passed by Republicans in the State Legislature last week, as he said he would. The veto means the Wisconsin Supreme Court will decide which maps are used. Dunn Co. Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspicious Items, Seeking Tips

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recovery of several suspicious items that appear to have a substantial amount of blood on them. These items were recovered on STH 40 near the Whitetail Golf Course in the Township of Colfax on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at approximately 6:00 PM. Price County Sheriff Brian Schmidt reports that on January 27, 2024, at approximately 4:13 a.m., the Price County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a third party advising of a possible suicidal subject who had just killed his wife, located at a residence on South Minnow Lake Road in the Township of Elk. A judge is refusing to set-aside a 40-year-old murder case in Polk County. The judge yesterday refused Mary Bailey’s request to dismiss the charges against her. Prosecutors claim Bailey shot and killed Yvonne Menke outside of her apartment St. Croix Falls back in 1985. The two were apparently dating the same man. The students from Suring Schools who were strip searched back in 2022 are getting 400 thousand-dollars. A judge in Oconto County yesterday approved the settlement that will end the girls’ lawsuit against their former superintendent.
