Plot Thickens for Fall Creek Library Plan

New Bill Shines Light on Solar, Wind Companies

There is a plan at the Wisconsin Capitol to give local governments the final say over whether new wind and solar farms can be built.  State Rep. Golden Ticket Sends Local Talent to National Stage

From Chippewa Falls to Los Angeles, Wisconsin’s American Idol contestant is moving ahead. CJ Rislove got his golden ticket on Sunday’s show. He’s from Chippewa Falls, but now lives in a converted school bus and travels the country working on his music. Rislove will be heading to Los Angeles to battle it out with the other contestants to see who moves on to the next round.

Chippewa Falls Man Sentenced

A man from Chippewa Falls is sentenced to 35 years in prison for shooting his ex-girlfriend. The victim put two restraining orders against Joshua Moggo two weeks before he shot her. The officers that arrested him shooting said he told them she got what she deserved. Moggo pleaded guilty for three charges last September. He will also have to pay 80-thousand in restitution.

New Law Expands Child and Dependent Tax Credits

Some Wisconsin taxpayers who pay for childcare will get more tax relief. Governor Tony Evers signed the bill into law today. The new law will expand child and dependent federal tax credits from fifty to 100-percent. More than 110-thousand Wisconsinites will benefit, with an average 656-dollar credit per filer. That’s almost 73-million dollars total statewide.

Body Recovered, Investigation Underway

An investigation is underway into a body found in the water in Hudson.  Police got a call Saturday about it discovered near Lake Front Park.  No one is identifying the person just yet or saying how they got to the park, and the medical examiner isn’t revealing cause of death either.  Investigators don’t believe there’s any threat to the public.
