Fine on Tap for WI Brewery

The City Brewery in La Crosse is looking at a fine because of its smell. The city yesterday imposed a 100 dollar-per-day fine on the brewery to try and get the swamp gas smell under control. Man Sentenced in Child Assault Case

A man from Florida will spend four years in prison for sexually assaulting an eleven-year-old girl in Chippewa County. The man was charged with the assault in 2011 and pleaded no contest last summer. The girl says he showed her and two other children pornographic videos. After his sentence is complete, he’ll have eight years of probation.

I-94 Crash in St. Croix Co. Under Investigation

Wisconsin State Patrol Inspectors and Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in St. Croix County on Interstate 94 at milepost 18. Preliminary evidence from the crash scene indicates that a semi-tractor-trailer was traveling westbound in the left lane. Chase Reaches Speeds Over 100mph, Ends in Arrest

A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper located a vehicle involved in a Felony Burglary involving firearms from the City of Eau Claire. It was another big crowd for the Eau Claire Marathon. Race organizers say 20 thousand people turned out for this year’s race. The sheriff in Vernon County says alcohol likely played a role in a weekend crash that sent two people to the hospital. It happened Saturday afternoon on Highway 14  in the Town of Franklin. Deputies say it looks like a man crossed the center line and hit a woman who was driving in the other lane.

Letter to Families Addresses Chippewa Falls Threat

No one is offering many specifics about a threat to Chippewa Falls schools last week. The administration at Chippewa Falls High School sent a note home to parents saying that they are aware of a recent threat to the school. The note says law enforcement investigated the threat, and the school said there’s no evidence of a credible threat. The letter to parents say the school cannot share any more information because of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
