Packers fans have August 3rd circled on their calendars.  The team yesterday said it will host the annual Family Night practice on that Saturday night. Birds of a Feather…

There is a search for the owners of some wandering Peacocks in western Wisconsin. The sheriff in Dunn County took to Facebook yesterday to ask about the peacocks that were spotted wandering near Boyceville. The two birds were last spotted on someone’s back porch. Dane Co. Judge Announces Campaign for WI Supreme Court

A liberal judge from Dane County says she’s running for the Wisconsin Supreme Court to save the state from a ‘right-wing agenda.’ Judge Susan Crawford announced her bid for the high court yesterday. Madison Ranked High for Pedestrian Safety

Madison is one of the safest places for people who are walking or riding their bikes. The group Smart Growth America is out with its latest pedestrian safety rankings, and Madison is ranked second in the nation. Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says the ranking shows that Madison’s focus on Complete Streets is paying off. The report compares cities based on the number of pedestrians who are hit and killed. Urban Forestry Grants Opening in WI

Urban forestry grants will open soon in Wisconsin. The state Department of Natural Resources says it’s giving more than 550-thousand dollars to cities or counties looking to conserve or protect its tree population through urban forests. Water Rescue Serves as Safety Reminder

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., the Barron County 911 Center took a call of two kayakers that overturned in the current near the Mikana Dam and need to be rescued. Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the WI DNR, Birchwood Fire and EMS, Marshfield Medical Center Ambulance and the Rice Lake Fire Department all responded to the scene. Oakleaf Clinics has added two Urgent Care facilities to  help provide additional critical healthcare services for patients in the Chippewa Valley who have  lost two Emergency Rooms since HSHS closed its doors in April.
