There’s a plea deal for the woman who stole tens of thousands of dollars from The Corner Store in Eau Claire. Prosecutors yesterday said 34-year-old Devin Becker pleaded guilty to felony theft charges in exchange for a deferred sentence. Bloomer Man Sentenced to Life in Prison

A western Wisconsin man will spend the rest of his life in Florida for a murder that he hoped would fund his fight against the Venezuelan government. A judge in Fort Myers sentenced Alex Zwiefelhofer from Bloomer, Wisconsin to life behind bars on Tuesday. A jury convicted him of killing a Florida couple during a robbery back in 2018. Marshfield Firefighters Respond to Reports of Equipment Fire

The Marshfield Fire and Rescue department was dispatched for an activated fire alarm at Masonite. Engines 2 & 1, along with Truck 1, and Ambulance 95 responded to the scene. Upon arrival fire department personnel were informed of a fire within a large piece of equipment within the building. An offensive interior fire attack was made and the fire was quickly extinguished. One The fire caused moderate damage to the equipment and the ventilation system within the building.

Madison On List of City Debt Increases

Madison has the third largest debt increase so far this year, out of 100 large U-S cities. A new report by Wallet-Hub looked at data points including differences in personal and auto loans, and credit card debt. The report says Madison borrowers increased auto loan debt by almost four-percent and credit card debt by more than three-percent. Boston and North Las Vegas had larger debt increases than Madison. Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Detroit had the lowest increases.
