The Packers’ backups got walloped by the Broncos starters last night. Green Bay lost last night, 27-2. The Packers sat their starters, including quarterback Jordan Love. The results were what you’d expect, the offense did very little and the defense was outplayed. Coach Matt LeFluer said he wants to see more ‘fight’ from the team going forward. The Brewers swept the Guardians over the weekend, and now have an 11-game lead in the NL Central. Milwaukee beat Cleveland 2-0 yesterday. Colin Rea took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. All of Milwaukee’s offense came in the first two innings, and they did just enough to stop the Guardians for the rest of the game. One person is reported injured following a chemical fire in Chippewa Falls.  The fire happened Saturday around noon at TTM Technologies and Chippewa Falls Police say all employees were evacuated.  Area roads were closed for about two hours due to the risk of hazardous chemicals.  No chemical leaks were found after inspections by emergency services. An estimated 100 Wisconsin protestors are headed to Chicago to march during this week’s Democratic National Convention.  Among the protestors will be some who marched during last month’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.  A number of pro-Palestinian protestors marched in Milwaukee on Saturday.  The Democratic National Convention starts on Monday.  Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz are scheduled to be at a rally in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

There will be more law enforcement on the road in Wisconsin starting today until Labor Day. Wisconsin State Patrol says the focus of the campaign is to look out for impaired driving. The Department of Transportation says more than 77-hundred crashes in Wisconsin last year involved drugs or alcohol, and nearly half of fatal crashes also involved intoxicated driving. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is getting a new secretary. Current secretary Craig Thompson’s last day will be September eleventh of this year, and is taking a job at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Governor Tony Evers says Kristina Boardman will take over the position, and will be the first woman to do so. She’s currently the deputy secretary with the Wisconsin DOT, and previously worked as an administrator at the state Division of Motor Vehicles.
