Library to Offer Free Program to Protect Seniors

The Holmen Public Library is hosting a program designed to help protect seniors from fraud and scams.  “Common Scams Targeting Seniors” takes place Thursday.  An agency liaison from the state’s Division of Trade and Consumer Protection will offer insights into scams targeting seniors.  The session is free and open to the public. WI Weekend Football: Love Hurt, Bucky Wins

Packers quarterback Jordan Love is reportedly expected to miss at least three-to-four weeks following Friday night’s injury.  ESPN reports that Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain during Friday night’s season-opening loss to the Eagles in Brazil.  Love will undergo more testing and Green Bay hopes the injury will only last three-to-four weeks.  The 25-year-old got hurt with just six seconds left in the game when he got taken down by a pair of Philly pass rushers.  Newly acquired QB Malik

Deadly Crash Remains Under Investigation

Wisconsin State Troopers responded to a report of a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash on Interstate 94 east bound, milepost 5 near Hudson WI. Upon arriving on scene, a 19 year old male victim that was the motorcycle operator had expired due to his injuries involving a collision with a motor vehicle. Marshfield Crews Respond to House Fire

A fire does an estimated $100,000 in damages. It was on September 6th, 2024, that Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department along with Marshfield Police Department were dispatched for a house on fire. Trump to Rally in Mosinee

Donald Trump will be in central Wisconsin today. The Republican presidential candidate will hold a rally this afternoon at the Central Wisconsin Airport in the town of Mosinee. Today’s rally is Trump’s third visit in six years at the airport in Marathon County. Egg Recall Affects WI

Milo’s Poultry Farms is issuing a recall for all of its eggs following a Salmonella outbreak in Wisconsin.  The eggs are labeled with “Milo’s Poultry Farms” or “Tony’s Fresh Market,” and they also include all cage-free and organic eggs.  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says 42 cases of Salmonella have been reported in the Badger State.  In addition to Wisconsin, the eggs were sold in Illinois and Michigan.  Milo’s Poultry Farms is located in Bonudel in Shawano County, about

DNR Urges ATV/UTV Safety

Twenty-seven people have died so far this year in Wisconsin from UTV and ATV accidents, five of which happened within the last two weeks. The Department of Natural Resources says most of the people who died weren’t wearing helmets or wearing seatbelts. More law enforcement will be on trails and routes across Wisconsin watching for safety violations starting today through Sunday for the Think Smart Before You Start campaign.

Serve Wisconsin Announces Funding for Eau Claire AmeriCorps Programs

Serve Wisconsin recently announced that Wisconsin received $12.8 million in grant funding from AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and community volunteerism, to support 29 programs and planning across the state.
