We have an update in an officer involved case in Clark County: The Wisconsin DOJ  was brought in to investigate and the result is that no charges are being filed against a Clark County sheriff’s deputy and a police officer in the town of Loyal after a suspect involved in a high-speed chase died. More than 200 people have been sickened after eating Fresh Del Monte Produce vegetable trays.  The CDC is saying that cases of cyclosporiasis were found not only here in Wisconsin but also in Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota. The infection can cause numerous stomach issues and fever.  Most of the trays, which included broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, were bought at Kwik Trip and Kwik Star stores.

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Rusk County.  That happened Friday evening in the Town of Willard.  Investigators accused James Wulf of shooting Daniel DeSantis after DeSantis got aggressive when asked to leave the property they were on. He was taken to the hospital in Eau Claire with non-life threatening injuries.

The event kicked off yesterday at Keller Park.  The four-day event features activities including kids yard Olympics, softball tournaments, live music, and carnival rides.  Fun fest runs through Sunday.

A reward is being offered for information on a series of home break-ins in Menomonie. Authorities say the break-ins happened in the residential area west of Johnson Fieldhouse-and there is some incentive to cough up any info you might have-aside from just doing THE RIGHT THING…an anonymous donor is offering a five thousand dollar reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of whoever is involved with the break-ins.

A situation on I-94 was a LITTER bit scary after a semi carrying kitty litter and dog food caught fire on I-94 in Jackson County. That happened Tuesday afternoon and Fire officials say the semi was fully engulfed when crews arrived. The driver reported hearing a pop before pulling over and seeing fire under the engine compartment hood. He escaped unharmed.

Independence day is OPEN, but just a heads up that Half Moon Lake is closed. Even though it’s the Fourth of July, the Eau Claire City-County Health Department closed the beach due to unsafe bacteria.  Those wishing to celebrate outdoors can still do so at the other Eau Claire County beaches, which are open.  Half Moon Lake is expected to be closed until at least Friday.
