We now have more information on a domestic incident. It was just after 4 on the morning of August 31st when members of the Eau Claire Police Department were called to a hospital for a woman who was dropped off by an unknown male with severe head trauma and was listed in critical condition. It was believed the woman was a victim of a crime. During the course of the investigation, the Department identified 41 year old Girard R. Jones

We are expecting more details today on a domestic incident.   A section of northwest Eau Claire is back open after authorities conducted a follow-up investigation following a domestic incident last week.  Police closed sections of north Clairemont Avenue from Venture Drive to Alphine Road while investigators gathered evidence and mapped out the area.  The domestic incident happened Friday in that part of Eau Claire and left one person in critical condition-we are expecting more details on that today.

UPDATE:  The body of Nathan Kummer was found. It appears he died from a motorcycle crash.  His body was located north of Mondovi and police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police are searching for a missing Mondovi man.  Authorities say 31-year-old Nathan Kummer was reported missing by his family Saturday night.  Officers say Kummer left work Saturday morning and he and his motorcycle haven’t been seen since.  He has brown hair, brown eyes, and wears a beard.  

THE Department of Transportation is accepting orders for two new specialty license plates.  They are for The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and the Musky Clubs Alliance.  A fifteen-dollar issuance fee and 25-dollar tax-deductible donation are required for the purchase and when renewing the plates, which can be ordered online at WisconsinDOT.gov.

A mother of three is the only survivor of a kayaking accident on Lake Superior.  Cari Mews, her husband Erik Fryman and their three children were kayaking between two islands in the waters off northern Wisconsin last Thursday when their kayak was tipped over by high winds and waves. A fire is responsible for causing significant damage to a Marshfield church.  Crews were called to Wesley United Methodist Church in the town Sunday afternoon and found the building engulfed in flames.  No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

The Ski Sprites were busy making waves over the weekend. The group performed over Labor Day weekend. Some people say what they do is similar to figure skating on water.  The team is made up of about 80 members and includes skiers and adult volunteers.  The skiers will perform at the lake again today (Monday) if you want to catch a show before the season wraps up for the talents group.

Flood warnings are being extended in the Madison area.  The National Weather service has extended flood warnings until Thursday afternoon as water levels continue to rise in the four Yahara River lakes.  Another two inches of rain is expected through Wednesday.  Madison police say weekend rains caused flash flooding on the west side and the near east side

Vietnam Vets are finally getting recognized as the community of Colfax is welcoming home its Vietnam veterans. Hundreds gathered yesterday at the Tom Prince Memorial Field to dedicate the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The dedication featured a Huey helicopter, a frequent sight for soldiers during the Vietnam conflict.
