Local authorities are on the lookout for two people reported missing from the Eau Claire area. Twenty-eight-year-old James Leidtka has been missing from Eau Claire since last weekend and 53-year-old Tony Cleasby has been missing from Mondovi since Monday. Leidtka attends University of Wisconsin-Stout and was last seen at a bar with friends and Cleasby was reported missing after he wasn’t at his house for a welfare check. Officials say the dogs and other pets were rescued from poor living conditions in a barn with dead rodents and piles of garbage. The pet owner had a prior conviction in 2010 for failing to provide for animals and was sentenced to nine months in jail.

The chase came to an end around 12:30 outside a hotel on Hastings Way when the driver tried to escape on foot. The suspect was caught and arrested near Wagner’s Lanes.
