A baker from Stoddard is the newest Food Network Holiday Baking Champion. Meringue Bakery owner Jennifer Barney won last year’s baking championship but was randomly paired with another baker this year to take on four other past champions to decide the ultimate holiday baking champion. WEAU says there were nearly 100 patients at HSHS Sacred Heart who couldn’t go home for Christmas, but some volunteers made sure to keep them company. They came around to every patient and gave them an ornament and spent time with them. One volunteer said he just wanted the patients to know people were thinking about them.

Two minors were in the vehicle early Monday morning when police pulled over Mitchell Nunke for speeding along Hastings Way near the intersection with Galloway Street. The officer noticed an odor of marijuana and arrested Nunke on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated with a passenger younger than 16 in the vehicle. He was also charged with marijuana possession and speeding.
