Family and friends of a missing man are searching for clues to his disappearance.  Volunteers are searching the area along the Chippewa River banks near where 53-year-old Toby Cleasby’s car was found in Eau Claire County on November 7th.  Cleasby hasn’t been seen since November 5th. 

Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel will reportedly decide TODAY (Monday) if he will pursue a recount in the election against Josh Kaul.  The move comes after the state Elections Commission released preliminary numbers, showing Kaul leading by just over 17-thousand votes or by zero-point-six-five-percent.  State law says a candidate can request a recount if the margin is below one-percentage point.  However, if the margin is above a quarter of a percentage point, state law would require that the candidate seeking

A nurse iS spleading guilty to stealing fentanyl from the VA hospital in Madison.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 48-year-old Todd Mehrhoff faces up to four years behind bars.  He is accused of obtaining the fentanyl for his own personal use by use of misrepresentation and fraud.  An investigation revealed that Mehrhoff was linked to over 100 suspected drug diversions of fentanyl from August of 2017 to December of 2017.  Operating room employees reportedly told police that Mehrhoff had removed

Firefighters across Wisconsin are reminding Thanksgiving chefs of the dangers of frying turkey.  The National Fire Protection Association says Thanksgiving is a peak day for home cooking fires.  Some simple tips to avoid disaster include making sure the turkey fryer is on a sturdy, level surface and not overfilled with oil.  Make sure the turkey is completely thawed and check the temperature of the fryer often because they can easily overheat. 

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating reports of deer poaching in Eau Claire County.  A conservation warden with the DNR says he began getting reports about two weeks ago about gun shots late at night and half-butchered deer carcasses dumped in the woods.  The warden says poaching makes all hunters look bad in general, even ethical hunters.  But he mentions that he thinks the incidents are relatively rare. 

A turkey store in Barron is recalling tens of thousands of pounds of ground turkey products just before Thanksgiving.  Jennie-O Turkey says four of its raw ground turkey products that were produced in early September may be associated with a Salmonella outbreak.  The USDA is currently investigating over 160 cases of illness in 35 states that could be related to the Jennie-O products.  Consumers are being asked to avoid products with the establishment number P-190 inside the USDA mark of

A free clinic in Eau Claire is reopening in a new location next month.  The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic is leaving the Syverson Lutheran Home to open a new, renovated building at 10-30 Oak Ridge Drive.  The clinic’s executive director says the new building will help limit the distractions of being a renter and limit having to move multiple times.  The new clinic is set to open on December 4th. 

One person is injured after a multi-vehicle crash in rural Trempealeau County.  The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup truck rear-ended another pickup truck yesterday morning on Highway 93 pushing it into crossing traffic.  Another pickup truck hit the one in the intersection, causing it to roll and eject the driver.  The man was flown to a hospital in Eau Claire with unknown injuries and the man who rear-ended him was cited for inattentive driving. 

A man is dead after being pinned against a piece of heavy machinery at a business in Rusk County.  The Leader-Telegram says the man was trapped underneath a front end loader attached to a tractor yesterday afternoon at Tractor Central in Sheldon.  Other employees were able to free the man before first responders arrived but he was pronounced dead before he could be taken to the hospital. 

The family of missing teen Jayme Closs is speaking out.  Family members say they believe James and Denise Closs were targeted when they were murdered a month ago in their home.  Their daughter Jayme went missing just before authorities arrived at the home while responding to a 911 call that came from the home the same morning that her parents’ bodies were discovered.  Family members sayt hey’re holding out hope that Jayme will be found safe.   Barron County Sheriff Chris
