Republican State Representative Kathy Bernier is moving to the State Senate. The District 23 seat has been called with Bernier having an 18-point lead over Democrat Chris Kapsner. Bernier will replace retiring Republican Terry Moulton. After the win, Republicans have taken eleven of the 17 Wisconsin State Senate seats and they also have a slight majority in the State Assembly, six-to-four.
