A Chippewa Falls man is facing multiple counts of sexual assault of a child.  Joshua Terrazasis charged with repeated sexual assault of a child and first degree sexual assault of a child younger than 13.  The criminal complaint says that the 26-year-old engaged in sexual contact with a nine-year-old multiple times from May to October of this year and that Terrazas admitted to the assaults.  *photo credit WEAU 13 NEWS

A former volleyball coach in northern Wisconsin is pleading not guilty to multiple charges, including sexual assault of a child.  Jason Nieminski resigned from Coleman High School in Marinette County earlier this year.  He entered his not guilty plea yesterday and returns to court after the first of the year.  Nieminski is charged with having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, child exploitation and possession of child pornography. 

 Today is giving Tuesday.  The National Day of Giving is a global day dedicated to generosity and giving back.  Non-profits in Wisconsin like the Red Cross, county humane societies, the Salvation Army, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and Make-a-Wish Wisconsin receive a tremendous boost from the funds raised today.  Donations this time of year are often twice the typical amount during other times of the year, but the Federal Trade Commission is warning people to research the charities they want to support. 

The search for a missing Door County man is over after he is found safe.  No details were given, but the sheriff’s office says Timothy Wessel was found late yesterday afternoon and taken to the Door County Medical Center as a precaution.  He was reported missing Sunday and spent 24 hours out in the elements.  Wessel went for his daily walk on Sunday but never returned, prompting a land, air and water search. 

Most of us have followed all that Barron County has endured this year and in a series of hardships and loss comes this light. It’s hard to brag about a safe deer season when three hunters got shot, but the state says the latest gun season is the safest on record.  Jon King with the Department of Natural Resources says three hunters were treated for non-fatal gunshot wounds this season, but no one died.  Last year, King says, six hunters were shot and none of them died.  The last time a Wisconsin hunter died in the field was 2015.  DNR doesn’t have a final count of

Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins is reporting a hunter found skeletal remains in a wooded area near County Highway W near the Township of Clifton.  He says the remains were reported on November 23rd but they haven’t been identified and a cause of death has not been determined.  Other state and local law enforcement agencies are currently working on the case. 

A Dunn County man who was shot by police is pleading guilty to burglary and fleeing from deputies.  Police say 23-year-old Reese Diesterhaft led them on a chase through Dunn and Eau Claire Counties back in August that ended with him stepping out of his vehicle with a weapon.  A deputy shot and wounded Diesterhaft but he survived his injuries.  He will be sentenced on February 12th. 

A public meeting will take place this week to discuss renovating the arena in La Crosse.  The La Crosse Center was last renovated in 2000 and the board tried to pass an expansion plan this past summer but it was struck down.  Now, the board is considering one of two options that are at or below the project’s original budget of 42-million dollars.  The meeting will be tomorrow 5:30 p.m. and if plans move forward, the expansion is expected to

Barron native Chris Kroeze is facing elimination tonight on NBC’s The Voice.  Last night, Kroeze performed Long Train Runnin’ by the Doobie Brothers and his coach Blake Shelton said that he keeps getting better with every performance.  One contestant will be eliminated on tonight’s show and then the final ten will take the stage again next Monday.
