Business Highway 53, Melby Street, and Hogarth Street were closed for most of the morning yesterday after a deadly accident. MOTHER NATURE TOUCHES DOWN

The numbers keep climbing regarding confirmed tornadoes in the recent severe weather outbreak.  As of yesterday the National Weather Service has confirmed 19 tornadoes ripped across the state a week ago.  Most were measured at EF-1, but west of Brownsville an EF-2 touched down.  Damage is extensive across the area.   And here on the ground, the damage from recent flooding in Dane County is estimated at nearly 155-million-dollars. Over 15-hundred-homes suffered some type of damage or flooding.  More than 100 businesses

WALKER HITS THE ROADS

  Life in the fast lane might mean fewer lanes as Governor Walker is questioning the need for more lanes on rebuilt highways.  Walker suggested yesterday that the state could get by with adding fewer lanes when it rebuilds roads.  He made the comments at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center during an event.

We head to campus for a picture day of sorts as a youth organization is hoping to get more student voters at UW-Eau Claire.  Nextgen Wisconsin is using welcome week to host Polaroid for the Polls at the Davies Center.  The drive is meant to influence students to get their voter ID card.  They plan to be on over 25 campuses across the state.

MAN CHARGED IN DOMESTIC INCIDENT

We now have more information on a domestic incident. It was just after 4 on the morning of August 31st when members of the Eau Claire Police Department were called to a hospital for a woman who was dropped off by an unknown male with severe head trauma and was listed in critical condition. EC DOMESTIC INCIDENT

We are expecting more details today on a domestic incident.   A section of northwest Eau Claire is back open after authorities conducted a follow-up investigation following a domestic incident last week.  Police closed sections of north Clairemont Avenue from Venture Drive to Alphine Road while investigators gathered evidence and mapped out the area.  The domestic incident happened Friday in that part of Eau Claire and left one person in critical condition-we are expecting more details on that today.
