Eau Claire city officials are eying land near Roosevelt Elementary School for a new park. The Eau Claire Plan Commission voted yesterday to buy three plots of land south of Folsom Street between Seventh and Bolles Streets. The city has put a high priority on buying new park space. The City Council will vote on the purchase next Tuesday.

The eagle was found on private property off Randolph Street in Mishicot in early December and taken for treatment, but died from its injuries.
