The post office in Sun Prairie will soon be renamed for a fallen firefighter. The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation yesterday that got the Senate okay this summer to rename the post office after fire Captain Cory Barr. Barr was killed in an explosion in Sun Prairie in the summer of 2018 when a contractor struck a gas main. The measure now awaits the president’s signature.

Vitamin E acetate is used in skincare products but it appears to be harmful when used in vaping oils. Doctor John Meiman says recent samples in Wisconsin did reveal from traces to substantial amounts of the chemical. Some health officials believe the chemical is to blame for the 13-hundred vaping illnesses nationwide and 76 cases in Wisconsin.

A criminal complaint says two informants bought suspected heroin from Joshua Hawkins at his home on Eddy Lane last month. Police say they found heroin, fentanyl, and other drug paraphernalia in Hawkins’ home during a search last Friday. Hawkins is facing 24 charges in connection with the case. A woman who was also living in the home is also facing drug charges.
