MISSOURI MAN PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN CASE OF MISSING WI BROTHERS

The Missouri man charged in the disappearance of two Wisconsin brothers is pleading not guilty to felony tampering with a vehicle.  Garland Nelson entered his plea in Caldwell County, Missouri court today on charges related to the disappearance of Nick and Justin Diemel who went missing on a business trip to meet with Nelson in July.  Nelson is charged for allegedly moving the brothers rental car off his property and to a commuter parking lot.  Human remains have been found on Nelson’s

BACK TO WORK FOR LAWMAKERS

MENOMONIE REMAINS IDENTIFIED

Human remains found in Menomonie last month are being identified as a man who went missing last year.  Police say Lucas Libersky went missing in March of 2018.  His remains were found on September 12th of this year in the 300 block of 28th Avenue North.  The Dunn County Medical Examiner is still working to determine Libersky’s cause of death. SUSPECT HELD ON ONE MILLION DOLLARS BOND

The man accused of shooting and killing a person and injuring two others at a cemetery in Wausau is being held on one-million dollars bond.  Henry West made his initial appearance in Marathon County Court last Friday.  West is accused of shooting and killing a 52-year-old woman and shooting and injuring two other people at Pine Grove Cemetery last week.  Police are recommending two charges of first-degree homicide and two charges of attempted first-degree homicide.  West will be formally charged

THREATS TO HOSPITAL LEAD TO PRISON

An Eau Claire man will go to prison after being found guilty of threatening to blow up a hospital.  Police say Joseph Walters made the threat on Facebook around the time he was a patient at HSHS Sacred Heart.  Walters was acquitted of making a terrorist threat last Friday but was convicted of a bomb scare.  He’ll face three-and-a-half years in prison when he’s sentenced in December.

FISHING ENDS IN DROWNING DEATH

UPDATE: The man who was found dead in Sandhill Lake in Luck last weekend is identified.  The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says 70-year-old Larry Richolz was found unresponsive in the lake around 4:45 last Friday afternoon.  The sheriff’s office says an investigation shows Richolz fell out of his boat and was under the water for several minutes.  His death is being considered a drowning.

ARTISTS BRUSH UP ON DOWNTOWN

A group of Eau Claire artists is trying to spruce up an alley downtown.  The Color Block project plans to bring 50 rotating murals to the alley near Brent Douglas Floral, Shift Coffee Bar, and The Metro.  Most of the murals will change every year while some will be permanent.  The first round of murals is expected to be done by next summer.

EVERS PREPS FOR PARDONS

Governor Tony Evers is ready to end prison sentences for nine people in Wisconsin. The governor will issue the state’s first pardons in nine years, later today. The governor says the people he is pardoning have all served their debt to society. The pardons are the first since former Governor Jim Doyle pardoned 100 people on his last day in office in 2010.

EC HEALTH OFFICIALS SEEK INFO ON DOG BITE

Public health managers in Eau Claire are looking for a bit more information on a dog bite from last week. The City-County Health Department says it wants to know more about the dog that bit someone at the local Goodwill last Thursday. The dog was a pug or pug-mix. No one at the health department is saying why they are looking for more information.
