Lawyer Threatened, Investigation Underway

Police are investigating after the lawyer representing the man accused of killing a young Milwaukee woman received a death threat.  The Waukesha Police Department says someone called Anthony Cotton’s law office and threatened to kill members of his family if he didn’t drop the Maxwell Anderson case.  Anderson is accused of murdering and dismembering Sade Robinson in April of 2024 and scattering her body parts across Milwaukee County.  Anderson faces a first-degree intentional homicide charge, and his just trial started

On Board for Train Service? Survey Open for Community Feedback

Homicide Suspect Now in Custody

A man charged in connection with a recent shooting in La Crosse is now in custody.  Twenty-eight-year-old Diontae Booth is accused of shooting a 20-year-old woman May 15th at a residence on Fifth Avenue South.  Booth is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and was taken into custody on Thursday. Rice Lake Man Convicted With 17th OWI

Ten years in prison is the order for a Rice Lake man recently convicted of OWI.  Seventy-two-year-old Mark Johnson was charged following a vehicle crash on Wisconsin Avenue in September of last year.  This was Johnson’s 17th conviction on an OWI charge.

Onalaska Man Sentenced in Drugs, Weapons Case

An Onalaska man is being sentenced to prison after being convicted on federal drug and weapons charges.  Thirty-one-year-old Efrain Estrada pleaded guilty in March to charges of possessing fentanyl intended for distribution and possessing firearms as a felon.  He was sentenced yesterday to serve 132 months in prison.
