A crash sends two to the hospital. It was Thursday just before 10 in the morning when the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 9100 block of USH 12, in the Township of Washington, reference to a single vehicle crash with injuries. Read MoreA man is in the hospital and another man is behind bars after a stabbing at a Chippewa Falls hotel. Police say the stabbing happened around 2:45 Thursday morning in the Country Inn and Suites parking lot on Park Avenue. Police took the victim to the hospital and used a K-9 to find the suspect, Anthony Avila. Police say Avila and the victim are from Dubuque, Iowa and were in Chippewa Falls for work.

A group of about 250 advocates and celebrities this week wrote an open letter to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers asking for a pardon or an early end to Dassey’s life sentence. The letter says Dassey was tricked into confessing about the murder of Teresa Halbach back in 2005. Governor Evers has said he is willing to pardon some people in Wisconsin, but not until they finish their prison sentence. Dassey is serving a life sentence.
