“S’MORE” INFO ABOUT OPENING CAMPGROUNDS

The public health department in Fond du Lac County says campgrounds will be allowed to open next week.  Governor Tony Evers outlined a modified safer at home order which will allow the campgrounds to open under certain guidelines.  Social distancing must be maintained and gatherings of people are prohibited.  Campsites must be limited to members of a single household or living unit.

The cost for regular gas in Wisconsin is a dime-a-gallon lower compared to a week ago. Triple-A says the average price statewide is a-dollar-25 today.  The national average is one-82.  Drivers are paying 99-cents-a-gallon in Appleton, one-oh-four in Oshkosh, a dollar-19 in Madison and one-36 in Sheboygan.

The Dunn County Dairy Promotion Committee is looking to “Keep It Cool” with local Dunn County food pantries. Many food pantries are lacking storage space for the increased demands on milk, cheese, butter and yogurt. Committee members and Blue Northern Distributing are looking to “fill the fridge” at Stepping Stones Food Pantry in Menomonie and other local pantries by supplying gallons of fresh milk and dairy products weekly. MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER DOMESTIC INCIDENT

A domestic disturbance leads to an arrest. It was just before 2 in the morning on Thursday, April 16th when a 911 call came in regarding a domestic disturbance in the Township of Seymour. It was reported that the disturbance was physical and medical assistance was requested for a female victim with non-life-threatening injuries. EC MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER BAD CHECKS TO COIN CO.

An Eau Claire man is appearing in court after he tried to buy thousands-of-dollars in gold and silver with a bad check. A criminal complaint yesterday says 59-year-old Charles Christensen ordered nearly 40-thousand-dollars-worth of gold and silver from a coin company in Oklahoma. The company says Christensen mailed a check, but it bounced days later. The company says they notified the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office after several attempts to collect the money. Onalaska police are warning restaurant owners about waste oil thefts. Police said the thefts happened earlier this month in the morning and its possible that the suspect could attempt several more. Police say the suspect drives a white cargo truck.

LACROSSE LENDS HELPING HANDS

The Salvation Army is bringing meals and essential items to people in need seven-days-a-week. La Crosse County Volunteer Coordinator says the organization is also providing things like blankets, toilet paper, and hygiene products from the emergency disaster services vehicle. A spokesperson for the Salvation Army says the organization is stopping at seven locations around La Crosse from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. The spokesperson says every meal also comes with a disinfectant wipe and volunteers are following CDC guidelines

OPEN “FORE!” BUSINESS

Golfers are getting what they wanted from the governor’s latest Safer at Home order. Governor Evers yesterday said golf courses in the state will reopen next Friday. The governor ordered golf courses closed with his original order, saying that golfers needed to be protected by social distance. The new order enforces social distancing by banning carts, spacing-out players, and keeping driving ranges closed.
