Tony Evers signed an executive order calling for a special legislative session to address funding for education. Evers says it’s time to recommit to two-thirds state funding to invest in schools, close achievement gaps and have the resources to retain and recruit talented educators. The special session is scheduled for February 11th and the governor wants to see some of the 250-million-dollars in projected revenue surplus re-directed for K through 12 education.

Devin Schroeder is accused of setting fires in December of 2018 that destroyed the restaurant. Schroeder was taken into custody yesterday. The District Attorney’s office says Erio Oliver was convicted of eight child porn counts and one count of intimidating a witness earlier this week. A criminal complaint says police found over 240 pictures of child porn of Oliver’s computer in 2015. He’ll be sentenced in April.
