WI Man Guilty of Killing Baby

A Green County man is awaiting sentencing for the death of his newborn baby. Logan Kruckenberg Anderson was found guilty yesterday of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding the corpse of the child. Prosecutors say Anderson was only 16 years old when he shot the baby twice in the head after taking the infant into the woods. Former Coach Among Finalists for Hall of Fame

Former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Holmgren is among nine semifinalists in the Coach category for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Holmgren coached the Packers from 1992 to 1998, winning a Super Bowl with the team. He later joined the Seattle Seahawks and coached them from 1999 to 2008. Holmgren finished his tenure with Green Bay as the team’s sixth winningest head coach with 75 wins.

Threat Investigated at Fredric High School

Members of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat was phoned in to a local school.  Frederic High School received the threat shortly before 1 p.m. and the building was evacuated.  No explosives were found.  Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the call.

Eau Claire Police are investigating after a man’s body was found Sunday morning along London Road.  Reports say the 65-year-old’s death is not believed to have been connected with any foul play.  An autopsy is being performed.

WI Alumni Association Remembers Former VP Cheney

The Wisconsin Alumni Association is among those groups and individuals remembering the life of former Vice President Dick Cheney.  Cheney — who served as VP under former President George W. A Wisconsin lawmaker is pushing to withhold pay for Congress during the federal government shutdown. Representative Bryan Steil introduced a measure yesterday that would keep his colleagues in Washington, D.C. from receiving their pay during this shutdown, and deduct pay during future shutdowns. In a statement, the Republican argued members of Congress shouldn’t be getting paid if federal law enforcement and other essential works aren’t being compensated. No Ongoing Threat After Online Posts

Investigators say no credible threat was found after an online post targeted a Jackson County school.  Officials say a report came in late last night targeting the Melrose-Mindoro School.  Evidence showed the suspect from Juneau County had no access to the school.  The suspect reportedly had a history of making threats toward the school, prompting an investigation.  Authorities say the case is resolved and there is no ongoing threat.
