The Association of American University Professors asked its members last week about their level of comfort in teaching in-person classes. About 60 percent said they would rather teach online. FLOOD CLEANUP CONTINUES IN BALDWIN

A school in Baldwin is undergoing clean up operations after it flooded during stormy weather earlier in the week.  Yesterday a group of volunteers worked to rid the Baldwin Christian School basement of mud and to help get the school dried out.  At one point after Monday’s storms the school basement was filled with six feet of water and lots of mud.

GAS PRICES DIP A BIT IN WI

The price of regular gas in Wisconsin is down three-cents-a-gallon compared to a week ago.  Triple-A says the average price statewide is 2.11 today.  The national average is 2.17.  Drivers are paying about 2.12 a gallon in Madison and Racine, 2.09 in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Eau Claire and below 2-dollars in Fond du Lac and Appleton, where the sign reads 1.99.

LAMBEAU LEAPS INTO ADJUSTED SEASON

WI CORONAVIRUS CASES UP, HOSPITALIZATIONS DOWN

Wisconsin’s coronavirus outbreak is largely in the same place it was a week ago. More people are testing positive for the virus, but the number of people in the hospital continues to fall. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported 539 positive tests and over 12 thousand negative tests. That’s largely where the state was on Wednesday. OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING IN SHEBOYGAN UNDER INVESTIGATION

The Wisconsin Department of Justice is looking into a deadly officer-involved shooting in Sheboygan. Authorities say an officer responded to a call of a man with two knives early yesterday morning. The 911 call said the man was going after a woman. When the officer arrived, he ordered the man to drop the knives, the man didn’t, charged the officer, and was shot. MAN HEADED TO HOSPITAL, NOT PRISON

The man at the center of last summer’s standoff at a Chippewa Falls motel is not heading to prison. A judge yesterday instead sentenced him to a state mental hospital for four-and-a-half years. The man called 911 from the Indianhead Motel back in August of last year and said he had a gun. A SWAT Team shot him as they tried to arrest him. It’s not clear if he really did have a gun.
