MORE NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS RETURN HOME

More members of the Wisconsin National Guard’s Red Arrow infantry group are back on American soil. The guard says about 200 troops returned from Afghanistan over the weekend. They join 200 or so other troops from the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry that arrived home earlier in the month. All of the troops will spend some time at Fort Bliss, in Texas, until they are sent back home to Wisconsin.

VOTER ROLL CLEANUP LAWSUIT ROLLS ON

The lawsuit over who will be removed from voter rolls across the state of Wisconsin could be growing. The League of Women voters yesterday asked a judge in Ozaukee County to join the case. The question before the court is when can the state remove someone from the voting system. Current law says the state must remove people within 30 days after a move. The American Red Cross in Eau Claire is offering people five-dollar Amazon gift cards for blood donations this holiday season. The Red Cross says there’s always a need for more blood. CRASH AT OSSEO GAS STATION LEADS TO 5TH OWI ARREST

A crash leads to arrest for an Osseo man. It was just before 5:30 on Monday evening when Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers responded to a minor property damage crash in the parking lot of the Speedway gas station in the City of Osseo. EVERS SIGNS TELEHEALTH REIMBURSEMENT BILL

Medicaid reimbursement for telehealth services is being expanded in Wisconsin.  Governor Tony Evers signed a bill today in Richland Center which covers reimbursement for provider-to-provider consultations and the transmitting of patients medical data.  Telehealth services have become a critical resource for people throughout rural Wisconsin.

SAFETY REMINDERS AHEAD OF THANKSGIVING

Health and fire officials in Wisconsin are urging safety in the preparation of the Thanksgiving feast.  Firefighters remind people that home cooking fires happen most often on Thanksgiving so it’s important to stay in the kitchen when cooking anything.  The CDC and USDA say under-cooking the turkey is the most common problem and they have posted tips about handling and cooking the turkey properly.

WOMAN RECOVERING AFTER HUNTING FALL

A 29 year old Fall Creek woman is healing after a hunting accident. It was Saturday morning just after 6:30 when the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call from Kayla Linder who stated she fell from her hunting blind and believed to have a broken leg and wrist.  On arrival, Buffalo County Deputy was able to locate Linder near an open field approximately 15 ft from her blind. MULTIPLE VEHICLE CRASH IN BARRON CO.

On Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 6:07 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call of a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy SS and Hwy B north of Rice Lake.  Initial investigation shows a Chevy Suburban driven by Brent Burns of Rice Lake was traveling east on Hwy B and failed to stop at the stop sign at SS and struck a Chevy Equinox traveling south on Hwy SS driven by Dillen Metheny of Springbook.

DNR LOOKING FOR INFO ON SHOT HUNTER

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants more information on a hunter who was shot in Washburn County.  The DNR says a 31-year-old man was shot Sunday morning in Minong Township and treated without surgery.  The DNR wants anyone with information to call its tip line.

COATS HAVE LOCAL KIDS COVERED!

Hundreds of elementary school kids in the Eau Claire School District have new coats thanks to the Eau Claire Firefighters Community Charity.  This year’s Operation Warm helped donate 500 coats worth eleven-thousand dollars to kids across the district last Friday.  The charity’s president says all the coats were paid for through donations.
