Food vendors went against each other as they battled it out for the title best wings in La Crosse yesterday. The event raised money for the local non-profit Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge. The group works to empower and uplift the greater La Crosse black community through leadership development and educational programs for youth. Winners of the competition took home a trophy along with a cash prize. This was the 2nd year of the friendly fundraiser.

The biggest increase in crime the county saw in 2024 was camping on city property. Another increase officials saw was the use of cocaine. The largest decrease in crime that officials saw was Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. Police say over 320 citations were written to the bar and its patrons since the bar opened in 2022. The bar’s owner said the judgment was unfair and has no plans on closing.
