Wisconsin plans to replace its unemployment insurance claims system in the next budget. Governor Tony Evers said the state is still evaluating the system to create a better one. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported yesterday, of nearly seven-million claims made since March 15th, about nine-percent were still in process. The department has taken steps to keep up with processing claims like hiring more staff, expanding hours, and upgrading some technology.
