Governor Tony Evers’ cap on crowds at bars, restaurants, and stores across the state is dead, for now.  The Wisconsin Supreme Court yesterday refused to hear arguments in the case, essentially shutting the door on the governor’s 25 percent limit. NFIB Pushes Against Naming Businesses

The NFIB in Wisconsin is the latest to say that naming bars, restaurants, or businesses that have had coronavirus positives doesn’t do any good. Bill G. Smith with the NFIB here in Wisconsin says the only reason Governor Evers wants to name the businesses is to punish them. The NFIB yesterday filed an amicus brief in the court case to stop the governor from doxxing places where workers or customers have tested positive. La Crosse Schools Look Ahead to 2021

It will be January at the earliest before kids in La Crosse go back to school. The city’s school district yesterday said it is extending online-only classes until early next year because coronavirus numbers in La Crosse continue to increase. The district sent a letter home to parents yesterday explaining that until the numbers come down, kids will be learning from home. Add Thanksgiving to the list of holidays that worry public health managers in Chippewa Falls. Chippewa County Health Director Angela Weideman yesterday said with coronavirus numbers on the rise in Wisconsin, now is not the time to risk the health of older loved ones with a big Thanksgiving. Weideman says families need to limit Thanksgiving, and all other get-togethers, to just the people living inside their homes.

Minnesota Man Killed in St. Croix Co. Crash

We now know the name of a man killed in a crash in St. Croix County. It happened on 8:50 PM on Friday October 30th near Roberts. There were reports of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I94 WB near MM7 in St. Croix County that eventually lost control and entered the median. The vehicle rolled multiple times and the lone occupant, 59 year old Richard Bold, from St. Paul,  was fatally injured.

Police Chase Leads to Arrest in Eau Galle

An attempted escape of foot leads to an eventual arrest for two people. It was approximately 2:45 on Tuesday morning (November 4th) when Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on I94 just west of US 63. UW STOUT To Offer Rapid-Result Testing

The University of Wisconsin-Stout will begin offering free rapid-result antigen COVID-19 tests to community members, age 5 and older, on Friday, Nov. 6.   The tests are being offered through a partnership between the UW System and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help address the current surge in COVID-19 virus cases in Wisconsin.
