Plea Deal Underway in Rusk Co. Murder Case

By Morgan McCarthy | February 25, 2021

A plea deal in a Rusk County murder case could mean no prison time for one suspect. Prosecutors say Tristan Shober pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of being party to felony murder. He was 16 when police say he was with Adam Rosolowski and Joseph Falk when they killed Rosolowski’s grandparents last June. The deal could spare Shober any prison time. The D.A. says if a pre-sentencing report suggests probation, they will accept it.

Business Groups Call for Polishing “Clean Up” Language

By Morgan McCarthy | February 25, 2021

Wisconsin’s largest business group wants a judge to force the state’s Department of Natural Resources to be more clear about the rules for environmental clean-ups.  Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce filed a lawsuit yesterday. The suit accuses DNR of ‘unilaterally and unlawfully’ changing the rules for the state’s voluntary clean-up program. WMC says the state decides what qualifies as a clean-up and what qualifies as a contamination on a case by case basis. WMC’s lawyers say spilled milk can even be considered
