Cold Weather is the Pits for Cherries

The recent cold snap has folks in Door County worried. Soren’s Valhalla Orchards owner Terry Sorenson says about 30 percent of his cherry crop has already been damaged. Today Marks 10 Years Since Boy’s Disappearance

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children hopes a newly released age progression image will help find a missing boy.  Today is the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Timmothy Pitzen who was six-years-old when he was last seen at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.  His mother was found dead several days later at a motel in Rockford, Illinois with a note saying her son was okay but no one would ever find him.  The forensic image released shows

O.M.Cheese!

A sea of cheese made for a messy cleanup on Highway 59 in Albany.  The highway was closed for almost eight hours yesterday so crews could clean up thousands of pounds of cheese that spilled from an overturned semi.  The semi ran into a ditch and crashed into a power pole, spilling over 40-thousand-pounds of cheese.  The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured but was cited for failure to secure a load.

EC Woman Charged After Exposing Children to Drugs

Police in Eau Claire say a 33-year-old woman exposed her two children to methamphetamines.  According to the police report, a social worker told them about the woman’s drug usage and that her three- and nine-year-old children may have been exposed.  Police say the mother has a female friend who also brings drugs — including methamphetamine and heroin — into the home.  The woman is identified as Brittany Cloud.  She has been charged with a felony count of neglecting a child.

Local Pet Store Offered Reward in Theft Case

Police are searching for the thief who stole Lily — a popular cockatiel who lived at Tropic Waters Pet Center in Eau Claire.  Lily belongs to the shop’s owner and was not for sale.  Owner Jim Reiman says he raised Lily from when she was only weeks old.  He says she is a tame and trusting bird and could have been easily stolen.  He says he’s worried about her welfare because she has nutrition and social interaction needs.  A 200-dollar

Vaccination Trends Echoed in EC, UW STOUT to Hold Vaccine Clinic

Spooner Man Receives 2nd Meth Related Sentence

Timothy M. O’Shea, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Brian K. Dennis, 51, Spooner, Wisconsin, was sentenced Friday, May 7 by U.S. District Judge William M.
