Charities and local groups across Wisconsin are going to have to find another draw for their fundraisers. Governor Tony Evers on Friday vetoed a plan that would have legalized paddlewheel raffles. An early morning crash turns deadly. Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash with injuries in St. Croix County on Interstate 94 at Mile Post 16 just before 5:30 on the morning of Sunday, May 23rd. The driver and passenger were transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The passenger was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Police in Beloit are on the hunt for several vehicles and the thieves who stole them from a dealership.  Police say the car thefts happened late Thursday or early Friday morning at BK2 Auto Sales on Broad Street.  Eight vehicles among which are SUVs, cars and pick up trucks were taken.  WKOW reports that as of yesterday, nearly all the stolen vehicles had been recovered although some were damaged including one found burned out on the side of a road. 

A one year old child was in the car during an OWI arrest. It was on Saturday, May 22nd at approximately 4:46 PM, A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on Highway 2 at Deep Lake Road near Iron River. The Trooper observed that the driver,24-year-old Ashley Taylor Ameli showed signs of impairment. Two people are dead and eight others are injured after a shooting in downtown Minneapolis.  The Minneapolis Police Department says seven of the victims are at local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries and one is in critical condition.  Police said early Saturday morning the shooting happened on the 300 block of North 1st Avenue, and that all the victims are adults, five male and five female.  They say there’s no active threat at the scene, and that order’s been restored.  Authorities

Health officials say in Wisconsin there is a nearly 98-percent recovery rate from COVID-19.  The data published yesterday says of all Wisconsonites who tested postivie for COVID-19 so far, 97-point-eight-percent have made a full recovery.  The report also says over 40-percent of Wisconsonites are already fully vaccinated.

Officials at Dane County Regional Airport say travel is up significantly over this time last year.  There are around 18-hundred-travelers using Dane County Regional Airport every day right now.  Airport spokesperson Michael Riechers says this time last year when theCOVID-19 restrictions first kicked-in there were only around two hundred-passengers a day coming through the airport.  Transportation Security Administration’s Frank Pipia says nationwide travel is up as well with around a million-and a half people using commercial air travel daily right

Savannah Lipinski, a drill sergeant with the Recruiting and Retention Battalion from Madison, Wisconsin, and Spc.
