A long-debated issue is struck down by the state’s High Court.  The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled unanimously today that drawing blood samples from suspected drunk drivers without a warrant is unconstitutional.  The decision upholds a State Appeals Court ruling from last year against unlawful search and seizure.

Green Lake County has confirmed its first case of Chronic Wasting Disease.  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says an adult deer found dead in the Town of Brooklyn early last month tested positive.  It’s the first deer to test positive for C-W-D in Green Lake County.  A three-year baiting and feeding ban is now renewed.  A two-year baiting and feeding ban is also renewed for Fond du Lac, Winnebago and Washaura counties because they are all within ten miles of the

The average cost for regular gas is down a penny-a-gallon statewide compared to a week ago.  Heading into the weekend.  Triple-A says the price at the pump in Wisconsin is 2.91-cents a gallon.  The national average is three-oh-seven.  The lowest prices in the state are posted in Fond du Lac County at two-dollars-and-72-cents a gallon for regular, while drivers in Ozaukee County are paying the highest prices at three-oh-seven.

 A Juneteenth celebration is happening Saturday at Carson Park in Eau Claire.  The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire is hosting the event celebrating the oldest-known date marking the end of slavery in the United States.  Coordinator, Dr. Selika Ducksworth-Lawton says the party starts at 2 p.m., including live music, spoken word poetry, education, and history. More than 700 new boulevard trees are being planted in Eau Claire. The City parks, recreation, and forestry department is planting the trees as part of a public improvement project and rebate program for residents.  The City says any resident who wants a tree planted can get a 60-dollar rebate per tree.  The City is responsible for treating and maintaining the new trees. 

The Northwood Blues Festival starts today in Chippewa Falls.  Performances start at 3:30 p.m. at Chippewa Waterfront Park.  Gates open at 2 p.m. today and noon Saturday.

Buildings in Wisconsin are lighting up purple on the longest day of the year in honor of Alzheimer’s awareness.  Purple is the Alzheimer’s Association’s color. Chapters of the organization across the U.S. are participating in the Longest Day with fundraisers and activity challenges.
