New UWEC Center Welcomes New Students

UW-Eau Claire’s new welcome center is open and ready to welcome new students. The building has been under construction since last spring. The new welcome center will be the home to UW-Eau Claire’s admissions office, as well as the alumni center and the school’s foundation. Tom and Jeannie Flesch donated the money to complete the center, and their names are on the building.

The split on the Wisconsin Supreme Court is becoming much more public. Conservative justice Rebecca Bradley used a ruling last week to complain that some justices don’t want to answer serious and substantive questions. Kohl’s In the Holiday Spirit Early

Kohl’s is already thinking about the holiday rush. The company this week offered hourly employees at its stores and distribution centers as much as 400 dollars to continue working through the holiday season. Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass says the bonuses are a way to say ‘thank you’ to the workers. The bonuses are also a way to keep employees on the job in what is proving to be a very tight labor market in Wisconsin and across the country.

Multiple Injuries in Buffalo Co. Crash

On Saturday, July 3rd, 2021, at approximately 5:03 pm the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office took report of a vehicle versus two motorcycles crash with injuries on State Highway 35 at the intersection of State Highway 25 in the township of Nelson. Manhunt Continues

A felony warrant is out for a man accused of killing a woman in the Town of Pelican.  Christopher Anderson remains at-large, but investigators may be getting closer after finding two vehicles they believe are linked to last week’s murder.  The body of Hannah Miller was found along River Bend Road on Wednesday.  Authorities have released photos of tattoos on Anderson who is considered armed and dangerous.

Investigation Continues into Deadly Fire

An investigation into a deadly fire continues by the Wisconsin Fire Marshal and authorities in Ashland.  Three people escaped a burning house on Monday morning with one hospitalized for burns.  Three bodies were later discovered in the home.  Additional details have not been released.
