Wisconsin organizations are getting more than three-point-two-million dollars in grants to develop small businesses in the state. The Economic Development Cooperation says the money will go toward developing, supporting, and improving infrastructure for small businesses in Wisconsin.  Milwaukee County is getting 200-thousand dollars, the Villages of DeForest Windsor will split 250-thousand, and Juneau County will get 250-thousand.

Nearly all of Wisconsin is at high risk of wildfires.  The Department of Natural Resources fire map shows Southern and Eastern Wisconsin is at very high risk.  West Central Wisconsin is at high risk.  There have been 476 wildfires statewide so far this year.  Right now there are a dozen prescribed fires, which are controlled burns across the state. The turkey hunting season will open in two days in Wisconsin.  The Department of Natural Resources says spring turkey seasons will open periodically in all seven turkey management zones.  Each zone will have a week-long hunting season, starting this Wednesday, April 16th.  The season will wrap up on May 27th.  The youth season took place over the weekend.   More information about each zone’s open season is available WITH AN EASY CLICK HERE.

There’s another candidate in the race for Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District Seat.  Democrat Emily Berge filed paperwork to run in the race on Friday.  She’s the Eau Claire City Council President.  Another Democrat, Rebecca Cooke, announced last month that she’ll also be running for the seat.  It’ll be her third attempt.  Republican Derrick Van Orden currently represents Wisconsin’s Third District.

One man is arrested after a car chase started in Eau Claire and went through multiple counties.  Police officials attempted to pull over a car who’s license plate didn’t match the car they were driving.  The car did not pull over and a chase began through multiple counites.  The chase returned into Eau Claire and finally ended on Hastings Way where spike strips were used to deflate the suspects tire.  Police arrested the suspect and searched his car. One person was taken to a local hospital as a fire destroyed a house in Cadott.  Fire officials say that the fire started in the garage and spread to the house.  Fire officials had to rescue two people who were trapped inside.  One person had to be taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A neighbor’s garage and house were also damaged due to the fire.  Fire officials are still investigating how the fire started.

The fourth annual Born to Shine prom took place in the Chippewa Valley.  The event was held on Saturday at the Eau Claire Event District. Students with special needs had their night to go to prom. Students got to be pampered before going to the event.  The event included a red carpet show where students got to walk down and show off their tuxedos or dresses.  The prom included food and drinks and of course dancing the night away.
