More Charges Pending for WI Teacher

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says a Lodi music teacher is under arrest for possession of child pornography.  The Sheriff’s Office said a tip from the Wisconsin Department of Justice led to the arrest of 28-year-old Dakota Mellen.  In a statement that went out to families and staff, a Lodi School District official said police don’t believe the charges involve “any of our students or any activity on school grounds.”  The statement did not mention Mellen by name and did

Wisconsin Weekend Football: Packers Pick Up a WIN

The Packers’ defense got the job done in L.A. yesterday. Green Bay shut down the Rams for most of the game, and denied L.A. a game winning drive in the end. Xavier McKinney intercepted his fifth pass of the season, and picked-up a fumble as well. Jordan Love finished the day with 224 yards and two touchdowns. WI Youth Hunt Weekend

Wisconsin’s annual youth deer hunt is this weekend. The Department of Natural Resources says hunters aged 15 and younger can deer hunt starting tomorrow as long as they’re accompanied by a mentor. The young hunter doesn’t need to have hunter education certification to participate as long as their mentor does have certification. Mentors must be at least 18-years-old. Political Attention Continues: Biden Plans Visit, Trump Returns this Weekend

President Joe Biden will come back to Wisconsin next week. The White House says he’ll be in Milwaukee on Tuesday to speak about lead pipe replacement and creating good paying jobs. An exact location and time hasn’t been released yet. Former President Donald Trump will be also be in Wisconsin in the next few days. He’ll speak at the Dodge County Airport in Juneau on Sunday.

Grants Set for Storm Recovery Efforts in WI

Wisconsin is distributing 140-thousand dollars in urban forestry grants to help with storm recovery. Eight cities will get the money to repair, remove, or replace trees that were damaged during storms in June. The storms were classified as catastrophic in some areas. The Cities of La Crosse, Middleton, and Sheboygan will all benefit.

Deadly Bicycle Crash Under Investigation

On Friday, October 4 th , 2024, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to the W6200 block of Town Hall Rd, in the Township of Brunswick, for a car vs bicycle crash. Upon arrival, deputies and EMS personnel immediately began performing life saving measures. After some time, the victim was pronounced deceased by the Medical Examiner. Sawyer Co. Deputies Respond to Disturbance Call

On October 3, 2024 at 6:49 p.m., Sawyer County Deputies responded to a disturbance call involving a firearm in the Village of Exeland.
