Chippewa Valley Symphony Returns to Stage

After a year and a half away, the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra (CVSO) will return to the stage with “Emergence” on Friday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m. On the program are Pelléas et Mélisande Suite by Gabriel Fauré, Violin Concerto No. 5 by HenryVieuxtemps, and Symphony No. 3 (“Rhenish”) by Robert Schumann. Suspect Arrested in Woods

A man charged with attempted first-degree murder who was arrested while hiding in the woods over the weekend is facing multiple charges.  Cody Krueger is accused of shooting a man earlier this month.  He’s also accused of armed robbery.  Police say the shooting appears to be over a woman and also a package of drugs delivered to a residence.

Lawnmower Accident Injures Child on Playground

A Kenosha County boy injured on a school playground remains in critical condition following brain surgery.  Authorities say Alex Hook was playing with classmates at Riverview Elementary School on Friday.  It appears that a landscaper mowing the grass near the school hit a piece of metal or rebar, which then hit Alex in the back of the head.  He suffered a skull fracture and a brain bleed and was airlifted to Children’s Wisconsin Hospital in Milwaukee.

Baraboo Evacuation A Cautionary Measure

 School district officials in Baraboo say the evacuation of Jack Young Middle School came out of an abundance of caution following a threat made against the school.  Students were evacuated early this afternoon.  No information has been provided regarding the type of threat.

Air National Guard Plans Night Flights

The Wisconsin Air National Guard will be taking to the skies this week.  The guard will be conducting night training sessions until 10 p.m. on most nights.  The F-16s will be practicing takeoff and landings.  Officials say flight paths are designed to minimize noise for the residents.

Death Investigation Continues in Dunn Co.

On September 12, 2021 about 2:18PM the Dunn County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 reporting a death in Town of Sheridan in northern Dunn County. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating this suspicious death scene. Not Guilty Pleas Entered in La Crosse Murders

It’s not guilty pleas from two suspects in La Crosse’s triple murder from back in July. Forty-four-year-old Khamthaneth Rattanasack and 33-year-old Nya Thao were both in court Friday, and both entered their pleas and went back to jail. They’re being held in connection with July’s execution-style murder of three people near La Crosse. Investigators say one of the men killed owed money. Both suspects are facing life in prison if convicted. There’s no word on when their trial will begin.

Slender Man Stabber To Be Released

After four years in a state mental hospital, one of the now-young women convicted in the Slender Man stabbing is going home. Anissa Weier will be released today, and she’s set to live with her father in Waukesha. Weier was just 12 when she and Morgan Geyser stabbed Payton Leutner nearly to death back in 2012. Probation and Fine for Man With Laser

A Milwaukee man will not be going to jail for pointing a laser pointer at a Wisconsin National Guard helicopter during last summer’s unrest in the city. Jeremiah Belen apologized to the judge on Friday, and he said he pointed the laser at the chopper out of boredom. The National Guard worked with Milwaukee Police to find whoever was using the pointer last year. They quickly narrowed-in on Belen. 115th Fighter Wing Preps for Deployment

Pilots and crewmen from Madison got a hero’s send-off on Saturday. Approximately 300 airmen from the 115th Fighter Wing are set to leave for a three-month deployment to Southwest Asia. The governor, guard commanders, and the airmen’s families all gathered on Saturday to say goodbye. No one is saying just where the 115th is going, or just what it will be doing.
